New month; new resolutions? : How to plan for the month effectively.

Ephesians 5:15- 16.

15. See then that ye walk circumpectly, not as fools but as wise.

16. Redeeming the time because the days are evil.

KJV

Ephesians 5:15- 16.

So be careful how you act; these are difficult days. Don’t be fools; be wise: make the most of every opportunity you have for doing good.

The living Bible ( paraphrased)

As long as you do not take advantage of your opportunities, you will never fulfil your destiny- Pastor E.A Adeboye (from the daily devotional “Open heavens” )

Welcome back again! Happy new month to you all. This month is a month of consistency and productivity for me. What’s your goal for this month?

Well, resolutions or goals aren’t for the year alone. You should have goals for every day, every month, every hour. Now I have a question for you, ask yourself sincerely please, are you happy with how you lived from January to October? Have you been making efforts towards achieving your goals? If yes, welldone! If negative, it’s not too late to begin again.

What is your proximity towards your goal? Is it declining? These are the questions you should ask yourself.

Below are few but powerful steps on how to plan effectively and how to be more productive.

1. Use a planner or a note to list out your goals for the month.

When you do this, it brings the spirit of dedication to you. You begin to have a sense of understanding with yourself. Listing your goals out also reduces stress. It drives you and gives you a room to accomplish more goals.

Ecclesiastes 9:10

Whatever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might, for there is no work nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

KJV

The verse there is simply saying, after death, there is no working where we are going hence we should do well while we are alive.

2. Prioritize what’s more important.

Put first things first! I know there are so many things you want to accomplish but you can’t do all at once. Do not multitask, it makes you tip toe around your goals rather than achieving one at a time.

3. Action.

Goals, plans, ambitions, determination etc are useless unless backed with actions. If you write all your goals down and do not act on them, then it’s all a joke.

4. Focus.

A successful man is not a man who knows a thousand things but a man who knows one thing and does that thing better than anyone else- From the book “Spirit of Apollo” by Sidney Newton Bremer.

5. Use deadlines.

It’s just like a student having an assignment, he or she has to submit on or before the deadline. Same way your deadline should be something you are conscious of. Your deadline makes you intentional about your goals.

6. Have a place dedicated to your work at home.

Make sure it’s free from distractions, make sure there’s enough lightning and put other factors in place too. Learn to be organized. Work the hours that suit you.

1 Corinthians 14:40

But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.

7. Break up bad habits.

Some people have the habit of scrolling through social media before working. It does not increase your efficiency at all rather it does not motivate one to start at all.

8. Be consistent.

Continuous effort; not strength or intelligence is the key to unlocking your potentials. Remember, Winners never quit and quitters never win.
