“This version of this app is expired, you would need to upgrade to the latest version to keep using this app.” You must have come across that statement once or twice while trying to log into some applications, right? Truth is, everything or everyone in the world needs an upgrade. To stop upgrading means you are ready to die.

You are welcome to today’s blog post. I would love to give some scenarios for you to fully understand the message God is passing to you.

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.” Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying: “As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.
Genesis 17:1‭-‬5 NKJV

There is an identity that brings forth results. Abraham couldn’t remain Abram if he wanted to bring forth Isaac. A change of identity was expedient. He needed to change his identity from Abram to Abraham. Likewise Sarah, she could not bring forth Isaac if she remained Sarai. She had to become Sarah to be a mother of nations, as the promise was for Sarah not Sarai.

You need to be transformed into an upgraded version in order to bring forth better results. An upgraded app performs better than the previous edition. The reason you have not stepped into a higher level is because you have not upgraded.

Jacob’s name had to be changed to Israel because Jacob couldn’t walk in the promises God had for him. Israel could.

Saul’s identity needed to be changed to Paul, because Saul was an out-dated version who couldn’t walk in God’s will and fulfill God’s purpose.

Saul was a persecutor of God while Paul was called to be an Apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God. Saul could not perform the responsibilities of Paul. An upgrade was needed.

The disciples also had to remain in the upper room for an upgrade before they would be able to do good work.

The reason why you are indiscipline, inconsistent, lazy, or whatever the case may be for you, is you are still functioning in the expired version of you. An old version cannot do the work of a new version.

A car manufactured in 2000 is out-dated and cannot perform the same responsibility as an upgraded one.

How do you become an upgraded version?

Firstly, you have to realise that you cannot walk in the promises of God if you are not conformed to His image.

All you need to do to be conformed to the image of God is to believe that Jesus died, was buried and resurrected for your sins. You need to be conformed to the image of God because you did not come into the world on your own accord. God created you to bring pleasure to Him. You can only please God if you are conformed to His image.

Using the disciples as a case study, in the book of Acts 1, on getting to the upper room, they stayed and continued in prayer. While they were praying, they were filled with the Holy Spirit and people gathered to listen to them.

When you have a new identity, it will be easier for you to do the good works God has called you to do. The disciples did not struggle to get people to listen to them, multitudes came together themselves.

My sincere prayer for you is that you are transformed to a new identity for God’s good works. You do not operate in a lower level henceforth in Jesus name. Amen.
