Happiness begins when one is contented.

We all want to attain a certain position and height but are we satisfied with the position we have attained? Are we satisfied with the height we have reached? Contentment is natural wealth, luxury is artificial poverty ~Socrates.

Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you don’t.

Ann Brashares.

Even the bible says in the book of

Philippians 4:11-13 Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

Be thankful for what you have, you’ll end up having more but if you concentrate on what you don’t have, you’ll never have enough.

Oprah Winfrey.

1 Timothy 6:6-12 But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

He who is not contented with what he has would not be contented with what he would like to have.

Socrates.

The word CONTENTMENT is a state of happiness and satisfaction. We should all learn to be happy with whatever life brings to us and we should learn to harvest in it not seek for more. Unless we learn to live with the moment, we are not fully alive.

If life gives you lemons, turn them into lemonade.

There is more to life than having everything.

Maurice Sendak.

Wealth is like the sea water, the more we drink, the thirstier you become ~ Arthur Schopenhauer. We should never let the things we want make us forget the things we have. Also, we should never wish for whatever anyone has because you do not know the source where it is from. Let’s learn to be happy with ourselves because happiness is self contentedness ~ Aristotle. Develop the ability to enjoy what you have instead of being driven by desire.

Be contented.

Those who are contented are the happiest.
